Grey/black bark, dense green canopy.

Pale yellow flowers, August- October
Habitat
Prefers moist, well drained fertile soils, cooler climate.
In open -forest, heathy woodland and on cleared land, particularly on dry, shallow soils.
Special Notes
Useful fast-growing species for medium-level cover in windbreaks. Tolerates frost, wind, dry and exposed sites.
Long lived, local species.
Value to Wildlife
Excellent habitat. Attracts seed-eating birds.
