    Narrow Leaved Bitter Pea

    Description
    Multi-stemmed, open, erect shrub to 2m high. Upper branches often leafless.

    Foliage
    Dull, yellow-green, narrow linear leaves to 9cm long.

    Flowers
    Flowers Perfumed, yellow and red to brown pea-flower, clustered on short raceme in leafaxils. Late Winter to early Summer. Followed by triangular seed pods.

    Habitat
    Found on dry sites, on poor, skeletal soils.

    Special Notes
    Legume, improves soil fertility through nitrogen fixation.

    Value to Wildlife
    Food source for native birds including parrots.
