Spreading or ascending perennial herb, to 50 cm tall.

Foliage and Flowers
Large blue or purple flowers. The coiled keel-petal has a yellow tip. Flowers Aug.–Nov.

Habitat
Heavy, seasonally inundated soils in grasslands and grassy woodlands.
