Tall upright tree to 50m high.Tall upright tree with white trunk and shedding long ribbon bark at base.
Foliage
Bark smooth, or rough at base (first 2-6m), shedding in long ribbons. Narrow glossy green leaves.
Habitat
Prefers moist, well-drained soils. Trees from lower rainfall areas more drought tolerant than those from higher rainfall areas.Found locally in valleys and moist areas of the foothills.
Special Notes
Useful high-level cover in windbreaks. Tolerates frost, snow and some flooding.
Value to Wildlife
Excellent habitat.Major koala forage. Gum is food for possums, particularly the Yellow-bellied Glider and Sugar Glider.
