Common forest tree of ranges. Small to tall tree to 40m high with dense crown and bark rough and fibrous on trunk to small branches.
Foliage
Fast growing.The leaves are rich in oils, giving off a strong aroma after rain.
Habitat
Prefers moist, deep soils.Common forest tree, found locally on the Strathbogie Ranges.
Special Notes
Attractive upright tree for shelterbelts andm habitat areas. Tolerates moderate frost, some snow and poorly drained soils.
Value to Wildlife
Good habitat. Flowers provide pollen for various insects, mammals and birds.
