Description
Large spreading tree to 20m. Thick trunk with spreading open crown. Dull grey bark with cream, reddish or grey patches.
Foliage
Pale or grey-green, narrow, tapering leaves with obvious veins, 9-20cm long.

White flowers at various times. Buds 5-10 per cluster,
Habitat
Found along inland rivers, ephemeral watercourses, and floodplains.
Prefers clay soil with deep moist subsoils. Riparian habitat but will still grow in dry. Frost tolerant.
Special Notes
Good for shelter-belt. Shade for stock. Fast growing.
Value to Wildlife
Flowers are an important nectar source for birds, gliders, moths, butterflies and insects. Attracts seed and insect eating birds.
Hollows provided nesting and denning sites for birds and mammals.
