Description
Short lived perennial herb up to 25cm.
Foliage
Leaves glossy dark green, oblong, to 20 cm long.
Flowers
Open heads of yellow flowers, a nectar-producing spur present at the base of the flower.Flowers spring and autumn.
Habitat
Prefers moist well-drained soils, tolerates some wet periods. Uncommon, found locally in moister areas of dry woodlands.
Special notes
Needs bare ground where its seeds can germinate. Very sensitive to grazing by introduced animals.
